" Next President Of Nigeria Must Not Emerge From The South" - Zulum

 




Gov. Zulum Speaks On 2023 Presidency, Says Zoning Presidency To The South, "Not A Must."



Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State during an interview on Daily Sunrise on ChannelsTv on Wednesday maintained that it is not a must that the next president of Nigeria must emerge from the Southern region of the country.


Although Zulum restated his support for power to shift to the southern region of the country, and laid emphasis that the call by southern Governors for Presidency to be rotated to the south is not wrong and also added that it would help foster for peace and unity.  Zulum however cautioned his  colleagues be mindful of the fact that politics is a game of numbers.


MediaOrchid recalls during a meeting of Southern governors which held on Monday, the Governors had declared support for Presidency to be rotated, stressing that, the next president should emerge from the South.


The chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state, read the communiqué agreed to by member states.


“ The forum reiterates its commitment to the politics of equity, fairness and unanimously agreed that the Presidency of Nigeria be rotated between southern and northern Nigeria and resolved that the next president of Nigeria should emerge from the south,” he had said.
