President Muhammadu Buhari has nominated Prof Mahmood Yakubu as the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for a second tenure.
Yakubu who was first nominated in November 2015 has been nominated yet again by Buhari.
President Buhari wrote the Senate President Ahmed Lawan quoting section 154 (1) of the constitution as amended. He said,
" I am pleased to present for confirmation by the Senate, the nomination of professor Mahmood Yakubu for appointment as Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for a second and final term."
