Two FN FAL Rifles Seized After Tip-off From Arrested Arms Supplier, As Police Launch Manhunt For Kingpin.
The Federal Capital Territory, (FCT)Police Command has recovered two FN FAL rifles and live ammunition during a raid on a suspected bandit hideout in Dajin Madam Forest.
In a statement made available to correspondents on Wednesday, the Command said the operation was conducted on 2nd August, 2026 by operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit. It followed credible intelligence provided by one of four suspects earlier arrested for supplying arms, ammunition, and illicit substances to bandits.
According to the Command, investigations revealed that the criminal syndicate maintained one of its hideouts in Dajin Madam Forest, located between Plateau and Bauchi States.
The statement disclosed that further investigation established that suspect Musbahu Ishaq obtained arms and ammunition from one Rabiu Hassan and supplied them to Baba Alhaji Sanusi, a suspected bandit kingpin currently at large and believed to be hiding in a forest in Katsina State.
"A thorough search of the hideout led to the recovery of two (2) FN FAL rifles and live ammunition concealed within their hideout in the forest," the statement said.
The Command added that investigations are ongoing to apprehend the remaining members of the criminal syndicate currently at large, recover additional arms linked to the network, and charge all suspects to court.
The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, PhD, FCAI, reiterated the Command’s commitment to intelligence-led policing and assured residents that operations will continue until all members of the syndicate are apprehended and brought to justice.
