#OlisaMetuhAt56 : Jubilation At Correctional Facility As Metuh Celebrates Birthday With Inmates

Legend Golden Care Foundation Visit Kuje Correctional Facility. 

..... Metuh Resounds Commitment Towards Providing Vocational Training, Legal Assistance For Inmates. 

Chief Olisa Metuh, a former spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday November 28 2021, accompanied by his wife Chief Mrs Kanayo Olisa Metuh of the Legend Golden Care Foundation alongside staff, friends and well wishers were received amidst great jubilation as he visited Kuje correctional facility in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja to celebrate his 56th birthday with inmates. MEDIAORCHID reports. 

As part of the line up of activities of the 'Beyond The Wall initiative, facilitated by Legend Golden Care Foundation, which includes providing legal assistance to inmates to facilitate access to courts and ultimately justice for inmates especially for those awaiting trial. 

Chief Olisa Metuh in his opening remarks said he came to celebrate his birthday with inmates who he met during the time he spent in the facility. 

Metuh in his remarks said he came with food items, which was to be distributed among the inmates. 

" This is for them to celebrate and eat with me. By this time last year, I was here and I celebrated my birthday with them, I did the same thing for them here, but today I am coming from outside. 

" I want them to know that has given me my freedom, I have not forgotten the love, friendship that we shared here, and I a totally committed to all the promise I made when I was here." 

Hief Metuh commending the Head of the correctional facility and work done so far to improve the living conditions of inmates said, 

" This is one of the best facilities in Nigeria, you have done so well in this facility. On my own part, I'll provide DSTV for all custodians and pay subscriptions to compliment the work you're doing," he added. 

Also part of the promises made by Chief Olisa Metuh is the provision of a centre where inmates can acquire basic skills such as;  tailoring, shoe-making, welding, carpentry etc.
