As good people of Mbaise nation are set to celebrate the 2021 new yam festival, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu congratulates the Ezurezu, Ndi-Ezeji and Ndi-Eze Mbaise for showcasing the unique cultural heritage of the Igbo beyond the shores of Nigeria.
Anyanwu further felicitated with his brother and immediate past Governor of Imo state, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha and the entire Mbaise people for sustaining a cultural festival geared towards the development of the state.
He further pleaded with them to use the period to reflect on the ideals of the unique zeal of an average Mbaise person which is to proffer solution, instill growth, peace and tranquillity within the three zones of the state.
According to him, “Iriji Mbaise has given a reputable image to the South East and Nigeria at large, adding that the level of unity, togetherness and coexistence the festival has brought into the society cannot be overemphasized.”
Senator Anyanwu, popularly known as “Samdaddy” further promised of his implicit and unquantified support towards making Mbaise nation and the society in general a better place to live wherever he finds himself in future.
While expressing optimism that this year’s new yam festival will sustain cooperation, development, brotherliness and bring positive results, also enjoined the people of Mbaise to always render constant prayers/support in their quest to alleviate the sufferings of the people.
