Former NBA Secretary General, Taidi Gives Wake Up Call To Police,

..... Says Nigeria Police Is Underutilized.

Jonathan Gunu Taidi, the immediate past General Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) on the panel at Day 4 of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Ikeja Branch Law Week while buttressing his point referred to Section 4 of the Police Act 2020 which provides for general duties of the police and in addition that the police:

“…..Shall perform such military duties within or outside Nigeria as may be required of them…”

He stated that the Nigeria Police is presently gravely underutilized and that the time has come for its personnel to be deployed in their thousands to occupy territories recovered from terrorists, bandits, and kidnappers as this is more crucial to the nation at the moment to the usual “Show of Force”  and routine deployments for periodic electoral duties.

He concluded that the 'police is our friend' when the citizens are safe and secured.
