Court Orders Immediate Release Of El-Zakzaky, Leader Of Shiites In Nigeria.
A High court in Kaduna state has ordered the immediate release of the Islamic leader of Shiites in Nigeria.
El-Zakzaky and his wife were detained in an undisclosed location after members of the Islamic movement of Nigeria (IMN), confronted the military in Zaria in 2015, blocking the road thereby stopping the COAS at that time and his Convoy from having free passage in Zaria.
Justice Gideon Kurada in delivering his Judgement acquitted and discharged the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Sheikh Ibraheem El- Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat Ibrahim who have been incarcerated and undergoing trial on 8 count charge on homicide, unlawful assembly and disruption of public peace.
El-Zakzaky and his wife pleaded not guilty to all charges against them.
According to Justice Kurada, the prosecutor failed to prove the case.
