Zambia's First President Kenneth Kaunda Is Dead

 




President Kenneth Kaunda Dies At 97 While Undergoing Treatment For Pneumonia.



Kaunda ruled Zambia for 27 years immediately after the country gained independence in 1964.


It was earlier reported that late President Kaunda was admitted in Maina Soko military hospital in Lusaka the Zambian capital on Monday and was Undergoing treatment for Pneumonia before his death. 


One of the laudable achievements of late Kenneth Kaunda is that as a first generation post African leader, he managed to lead Zambia through the troubled era of South Africa.


Domestic stability is noted as his strength and  achievement in his 27 years on office as president despite the intimidating nature of Rhodesia and South Africa which are neighbouring countries to Zambia.
