Bandits are reported to have invaded Federal Government Girls College in Birnin-Yauri Kebbi state.
The bandits were said to have stormed the school premises on Thursday from Rijau forest riding on motor cycles, shooting sporadically and eventually overpowered the police who had initially put up a resistance.
The bandits took away 30 students and three teachers killing a security agent in the process.
A member of the House of Representatives Yusuf Tanko Sununu representing Ngaski / Shanga / Yauri Constituency of Kebbi said has confirmed the abduction.
Yusuf Tanko while addressing the press at the National Assembly after he received reports of the incident said, the number of teachers abducted is yet to be ascertained.
He made a frantic call to the Federal Government and security agencies to help ensure the safe rescue of both students and teachers.
The abduction in Birnin Yauri, Kebbi State makes it the 3rd Abduction on schools in the space of 3 weeks.
