Lai Mohammed Reveals AGF Malami Assures, Pastor Adeboye, Others Will Face Prosecution.

Lai Mohammed the Minister of Information and Culture had revealed that the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) Abubakar Malami will ensure that all Nigerians who accessed and used Twitter after Buhari had banned Twitter in Nigeria, including Pastor Enoch Adeboye will be prosecuted.
In an interview with BBC Africa Focus on Monday, Mr Lai Mohammed when asked if the Prosecution will include the popular Pastor Adeboye of the Redeemed Church of God (RCCG) who had earlier stated reason for using the platform citing article 19 of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).
According to the article,
" Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression ; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers."
In answering the question, Lai Mohammed laid emphasis on what he described as 'persistent use of Twitter in the country, undermining Nigeria's corporate existence.'
" The government has suspended indefio, the operations of Twitter in Nigeria because of the persistent use of the platform for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria's corporate existence and government.
" Also directed the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to begin the process of issuing licensing to all social media operations in Nigeria, with immediate effect."
MediaOrchid recalls that Pastor Adeboye of RCCG on Monday gave reasons for his insistence on use of Twitter. He said,
" The Redeemed Church of God is domiciled in more than 170 nations and territories, the tweets here are in accordance to article 19 of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights."
Another Pastor and General overseer of Deeper Life Bible church (DLBC) , Williams Kumuyi also asserted via the official Twitter handle that DLBC's tweets are targeted at its global audience spread across 5 continents and over 100 Nations.
" In view of the #TwitterBan, in Nigeria, please note that the content shared on this handle is targeted at a global audience in more than 5 continents and over 100 Nations and we share the content from any of the locations."
Other notable persons who used the platform after the ban include;
The governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, Governor of Oyo Seyi Makinde, Senator Shehu Sani and many supporters of Buhari including members of Buhari Media Centre (BMC) with majority of them residing in Nigeria.
President Buhari banned Twitter in Nigeria after the platform removed one of his tweets and videos threatening genocide on Igbos.
