Buhari Appoints Major General Farouk Yahaya, As New Chief Of Army Staff (COAS).
President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Farouk Yahaya as the new chief of army staff.
Major General Yahaya, automatically replaces the former Chief of Army Staff late Maj. Gen Ibrahim Attahiru who recently Died in a Plane Crash.
Maj. Gen. Yahaya was the general commanding officer 1 Division Nigeria Army.
Nigerians have taken to various social media platforms to registered their concerns about the appointment stressing that like many other appointments, other regions are been marginalized.
They Pointed out that the recently appointed COAS is an officer of the Regular Course (RC) 37 however there are Senior officers of RC 35 and 36 who are still in service and qualified for appointment as Chief Of Army Staff.
According to popular opinions making rounds, President Muhammadu Buhari, brazenly disregarded the ranking system of the Nigerian Army.
