The newly appointed acting IGP weeks into appointment has directed that all senior police officers be withdrawn from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

A letter signed by Idowu Owohunwa the principal staff officer to the IGP and addressed to the Abdulrasheed Bawa the Chairman of the commission reveals that all officers from the rank of chief superintendent of police have been ordered to report to the force headquarters today  Wednesday April 21 2021 at 10am prompt in line with the present operational requirements of the Nigeria Police Force.

MediaOrchid recalls that days ago, the IGP had recently ordered that the IGP monitoring satellite offices in Port Harcourt and Lagos offices be disbanded immediately.

In time past, officers from the Nigeria Police Force were usually appointed as head of the commission thereby allowing for the police to be a huge part of the operations. Bawa however has set a new record by becoming the first to be appointed Chairman of the commission without being a police officer.
