One Dead, Several Injured As Police Shoot At Shiites Protesting In The FCT Abuja.
One person has been reported dead in a protest earlier today in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.
Men of the Nigerian Police were reported to have opened fire members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) who on Monday afternoon took to the street in a protest in Abuja.

Mushin Abdallah a member of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria was hit by live rounds used by the police who confronted the protesters using lethal force.
The spokesperson of the group Mr Musa revealed that IMN members converged at a usual venue in Maitama in a usual peaceful protest demanding for the release of their leader El-Zakzaky and his wife who have been in detention without trial since 2015 following the killing of more than 300 Shiites and destruction of the camp in Zaria when suddenly the police interrupted their peaceful protest.
“ Today there was a daily ‘free Zakzaky’ peace protest. However, on reaching the area around Human Rights Commission, where the protesters normally go to lodge their complain, armed security men opened fire on them, killing Muhsin Abdallah instantly and injuring many. ”
As at press time, no statement nor response has been received from the police.
