Nigerian Senate Hammers On Regulation Of Bleaching Creams, Express Concern Over Damaging Effects Of Harmful Cosmetic.
MediaOrchid recalls that NAFDAC had earlier been directed to regulate importation, formulation, and sale of cosmetics within Nigeria.
The resolution to ensure the regulation of the formulation and distribution of cosmetics, especially bleaching cream, was passed by Nigerian senators on Tuesday, February 16, 2021.

Senator Remi Tinubu raised the motion during plenary to urge the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to wake up to its responsibility to protect Nigerians against harmful cosmetics.
Speaking on the floor of the Senate during the plenary session she expressed concern with the proliferation of small and medium enterprises and businesses that have flooded the Nigerian market with beauty products whose production are not well-regulated.
