Women in Politics Forum (WIPF) embarked on grassroots Community Sensitization in six zones of the Federation.
The Sensitization program took place in Abia, Ondo, Adamawa, FCT, Kaduna and Edo States, from 13th - 27th August, 2020.
The goal is to achieve the buy in and support of grassroots women and the need for them to support any woman contesting elections in their community and State.
It took into consideration that grassroots women are majorly the voters during elections and most times do not vote for women candidates.
The sensitization was timely as more women have joined political parties and have pledged to support women come 2023.
The Sensitization had in attendance, Community leaders, politicians, Religious leaders and women from every strata of the society. The Sensitization was supported by ActionAid WVLN program, with funding from Global Canada.
