" I Know The Game" , Former Gov. Yari Indicates Interest To Be APC National Chairman

The Former Governor of Zamfara State Abdul'aziz Yari has said he knows the how a National Chairman emerges in the All Progressives Congress (APC) even though it's the Party's responsibility to decide what Zone produces a national Chairman.

MediaOrchid recalls that since the sack of Comrade Adams Oshiomole, the APC has been functioning under a National Caretaker Committee which is chaired by the Governor of Yobe Mai Buni.

At the end of a meeting at the Presidential Villa  with vice president Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday, responded to questions from the press stating his level of preparedness to contest for the position of the National Chairman of the APC should it be given to his zone.

He said,

“I have said it several times that I know from the grassroots how the chairman is picked. Either in the PDP, ANPP, CPC, I know how the chairman is picked.

“It is not picked by ‘okay, here I am; Yari, pick me.’ The party will sit down and critically look at which zone will produce the chairman, which zone will produce the secretary, which zone will produce the deputy.

“If they say the zone where I come from is favoured to pick it, of course, wholeheartedly, I will go for it.

“So, I know how the game is being played and I am ready to do it if I am trusted. So, there is no issue there.”

The Former Governor also beseeched other politicians to grant concessions and be unwavering in their loyalty to the party. He
said efforts to reconcile aggrieved party members in Zamfara was ongoing, and the process appears smooth.

“I think effort is being made by the party to see that reconciliation is made and also that the party can come back to its track.

“You know the accident that happened in the state, which we are managing, and then to ensure that we avoid it in the future.

“So, I welcome any reconciliation that will be of benefit to my party in the state and at the national level.”
