The Minister for Women Affairs, her excellency Dame Pauline Tallen, hails Court Judgement on a case of Gender Based Violence (GBV) involving Senator Elisha Abbo.
MediaOrchid recalls that Sen Abbo in 2019, was seen in a viral video having been caught by a close circuit Camera, Physically assaulting one Ms Osimibibra Warmate in a Sex toy shop.
According to a statement made available to newsmen by the director of press, following the judgement on Monday September 28 by the High Court in the FCT Abuja, Senator Abbo was slammed with a fine of N50m
" The Ministry for Women Affairs and Other Stakeholders are determined as ever to take all necessary steps to checkmate all incidences of gender based violence (GBV) .
" There is no more Safe haven for rapists, Abusers and Persons who violate human rights by exhibiting gender based violence."
Dame Tallen also stressed that the judgement given by the court will serve as a stern warning to other male chauvinists who delight in the dehumanizing and Harassing women regardless of their positions in the society.
