Presidential Probe: Panel Recommends Magu For Sack And Prosecution

Ibrahim Magu, the suspended Ag. Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has been recommended for sack and Prosecution by the presidential panel.

The panel which is headed by Ayo. Salami the Ex president of Appeal Court had on Wednesday submitted a report in which the immediate sack and prosecution of Ibrahim Magu was recommended over allegations of corruption and abuse of office and violation of the code conduct of the law which includes failure to declare assets since he assumed office.

The panel instructed also suggested that a new chairman be appointed for the anti-graft agency immediately.

MediaOrchid recalls that Magu was arrested after the Attorney General of Federation (AGF) Abubakar Malami wrote accusing him of tampering with loots recovered by the EFCC and also the purchase of property in Dubai where a pastor was used as a camouflage. These events led to the appointment of Umar Mohammed to act in his place.

Recall that Magu had earlier through his counsel Shittu responded to all allegations claiming they aren't true. He demanded to see the charges against him.
