COVID-19 : Hotel, Parks, Relaxation Centres, Others, Now Opened In Osun


The government of Osun state has directed the reopening of hotels, parks relaxation centres, hairdressing salons and barbershops on 28th August.

In a statement made on Wednesday by Niyi Ajibola the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy governor, of Osun state Benedict Alabi who is also the Chairman of Osun state technical committee on COVID-19, during a meeting with representatives of owners of hotels, bars, and relaxation centres.

He revealed that the decision to reopen the above mentioned places was the resolution
made at the State Executive Meeting held on Monday which had the commissioner for health Rafiu Wusamotu, Special Adviser to the governor on public health, Olasiji Olamiju, and Babatunde Olawale, Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology in attendance.

He said,

“The decision to close down your businesses as at that time was very regrettable. But in the best interest of everyone, we took the decision then in order to protect the lives of our people against Coronavirus, which is still ravaging the entire world.”

Warning against late night parties, he said,

" Night parties are prohibited and all owners of businesses must follow rules to avoid further spread of the infection caused by the Coronavirus."
