The Niger Delta Renaissance Coalition has kicked against Sen Godswill Akpabio the Minister of Niger Delta supervising the Niger Delta Development Commission's (NDDC) Forensic Audit.
The National Coordinator of the group, Comrade Godknows Sotonye had alleged Akpabio was tampering with the process of recruitment of forensic auditors stressing that Akpabio seeks to conceal hidden truth about himself and also cover up for some contractors.
Sotonye further described the forensic audit as nothing but a mere act which is been put up to shield Akpabio and those who benefited from him from being brought to book.
The Niger Delta Renaissance Coalition Group pointed that Akpabio allegedly handpicked 9 audit firms namely ;
1. Ema and Young,
2. G.E Osagie and Co,
3. Sunny Okon and Co,
4. Abuchi E.O. Ogbeji and Co,
5. Alliance Consulting and Digital Solutions, 6. Sada Idris and Co,
7. E. Field Associates Services,
.. and Discovery Cycle Professionals, and BBC Professions.
The Group also alleged that Akpabio went ahead to manipulate the Bureau of Public Procurement to hand him a Certificate that doesn't make room for objections over the firms involvement in the process of Forensic Audit for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
