News reaching the news desk of Media Orchid earlier on Saturday morning revealed that thugs Loyal to a certain Captain Idahosa were mobilized and hired to cause mayhem in front of the Oba's Palace.
A Source revealed, that Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state in the company of the the Chairman of the PDP Governorship campaign Council, Governor Nyesome Wike of Rivers state, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State and Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, paid a courtesy visit to the Royal father N'ọba, N'edo, Uku Akpolopolo Oba Ewuare II.

The Governors who had come into Edo state for the official Flag Off of the campaigns joined their colleague Governor Obaskei to pay homage to the traditional ruler of the Edo people before joining other party faithfuls at the stadium for the event.
According to our source, Captain Idahosa who knew that the Governor was going to the Oba's Palace today, mobilized thugs to also accompany him to the Palace claiming he also came to pay homage despite it being common knowledge that he is supporting a different candidate from the Governor
Idahosa's actions have been alleged to be a calculated attempt to disrupt a peaceful activity and embarrass Governor Obaseki as the thugs that accompanied Idahosa were seen booing and chanting at Governor Obaseki.
Narrating further our source said
"As soon as the Governors and their entourage were heading out of the Palace, the thugs began attacking some members who were part of our convoy but were behind. They smashed windscreens of cars that had stickers and flags of the PDP on them."
Another Source Ms. Rita who was neither at nor around the place during the first attack also revealed how she was attacked on her way back.
" I was driving home from the stadium when suddenly some thugs began to shout, identifying me as a PDP woman because of the attire I wore. Before I realised it they had used stones to smash the windows of my car."

Enraged Edo youths have taken to various media platforms to call on Governor Obaseki ensure the perpetrators of these acts are arrested and to see to it that there is a beef up in security.
They have also issued warnings to Captain Idahosa that they may be forced to retaliate the attack on party faithfuls today if further provoked.
