Bauchi Gov. Bala Mohammed Blows Hot, Suspends Emir And District Head.


Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed has suspended the Emir of Misau along with the Chiroman Misau and the District Head of Zadawa over the clash between herdsmen and farmers that left 10 people dead during the week.


The Emir of Misau is a first class traditional ruler in Bauchi Central Senatorial District of the State.

The Governor had earlier suspended the Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Secretary of Misau Local Government for their failure to stop the deadly violence.

The governor said the paramount ruler alongside the District Head of Chiroma, Village Head of Zadawa in Hardawa District and other traditional rulers in the affected areas would remain suspended pending the outcome of investigation on the remote and immediate causes of the violence.

He announced this during the inauguration of the 13 administrative panel of investigation into the issues in Bauchi.

Communal clash broke out in Malunja village in Zadawa of Misau LGA last Monday and Tuesday over land dispute between herders and farmers with alleged connivance of local government officials who wanted to convert the disputed land for farming. The development sparked hostilities leading to death of nine people
