A group of Pensioners in Owerri the Imo State capital today 23rd June 2020 took to the streets in a protest demanding payment of their pension.
A man (one of the protesters) seen along Bank Road when approached by a source confirmed that they were angry from the frustration and suffering they go through daily as a result of non payment of their pension.
"I have not been paid for 4months, things are very hard for me and my family, We cannot feed well the suffering is too much. Please we are begging the government to pay us" .
The group was seen heading for the Imo State Government House Owerri.
