Coalition cites Saraki’s leadership and ties with Fulani community, distances itself from rival group supporting APC.
The Fulani Joint Political Associations in Kwara State have declared full support for former Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, and the Peoples Democratic Party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The coalition said its decision is based on confidence in Dr. Saraki’s leadership, his commitment to Kwara’s development, and his longstanding relationship with the Fulani community.
The association comprises the Fulani Community Association, Kwara State; Nomadic Fulani Development Association, Kwara State; United Fulani Association, Kwara State; Ewelere Fulani Association, Kwara State; Toyin Saraki Fulani Women Forum, Kwara State; Yettore Allah Fulani Women Forum, Kwara State; and Joint Fulani Youth Ambassador, Kwara State.
The coalition also formally dissociated itself from another Fulani political group that recently declared support for the APC, identified as Mayitt Allah Pulaku Yeso Yeso. It stressed that the position taken by the chairman of that group, Mallam Ali Jowuro, does not represent the views or interests of the Fulani Joint Political Associations in Kwara.
The group reaffirmed its commitment to mobilize members across the state for Dr. Saraki and the PDP, expressing confidence in the party’s chances in 2027.
According to the leadership, the coalition does not know anything about the so-called Fulani political party that threw its support for the opposition APC.
The statement was signed by the State Chairman, Alh. Aliu Jimoh Abodunrin; State Women’s Leader, Alhaja Ahisat Iyabo; Secretary, Mr. Muhammad Ibrahim Olayinka; Public Relations Officer, Mallam Musa Abdulmumini Olayinka; and State Youth Coordinator, Hon. Idris Abubakar Alfulani.
