Imo CP Hails Discipline, Academic Excellence At 10th Passing-Out Parade, Urges Graduates To Uphold Values Of Integrity And Service.
It was a moment of pride, celebration, and achievement at Police Secondary School, Isu Nwangele, Imo State, as 69 SS3 students marked the successful completion of their secondary education during the school’s 10th Passing-Out Parade and Prize-Giving Ceremony held on Saturday, 18th July 2026. The ceremony was presided over by the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, CP Audu Garba Bosso, PSC (+), as the Reviewing Officer.
The colourful ceremony, held at the school parade ground, attracted dignitaries including the Chairman of the Occasion, Hon. (Chief) Obinna Paschal Durujaku (Onwa I, Onye Otu Kristi), the Chairman of Nwangele Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Paul Chijoke Duru, traditional rulers, founding fathers of the school, senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force, parents, guardians, and other well-wishers.
The event commenced with the inspection of the sentry guard by the Reviewing Officer, CP Audu Garba Bosso, PSC (+), followed by a colourful review of the parade and an impressive match-past by the graduating students. The students displayed remarkable discipline, precision, confidence, and coordination, reflecting the high standards of training, character formation, and academic excellence fostered by the institution.
The Commandant of the school, CSP Ayuba Gambo, in his welcome address highlighted the achievements of Police Secondary School, Isu Nwangele, established in 2015 as the first Police Secondary School in the South-East geopolitical zone. He further described the institution as a centre of excellence and urged the graduating students to uphold the values of integrity, discipline, patriotism, hard work, and service to humanity as they proceed to higher institutions of learning.
The programme featured goodwill messages and keynote addresses from the PTA Chairman, Comrade Onuoha Chijoke; the Chairman of the Occasion, Hon. (Chief) Obinna Paschal Durujaku; Chief Andrew Ewerem, former Police Public Relations Officer, Imo State Command and one of the founding fathers of the school; as well as the Chairman of Nwangele Local Government Area.
Delivering his address, the Reviewing Officer, CP Audu Garba Bosso, PSC (+),congratulated the 69 graduating students on the successful completion of their secondary education. He commended the Commandant, teachers, instructors, and staff for their dedication to academic excellence, discipline, and character development, while applauding the students who received awards for outstanding performances in academics, leadership, discipline, and extracurricular activities.
The Commissioner reaffirmed that the Nigeria Police Force, under the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu Rilwanu, psc, remains committed to promoting quality education, youth development, and character building through its educational institutions. He urged the graduating students to uphold these values and called on stakeholders to continue supporting the growth and development of Police Secondary School, Isu Nwangele.
Highlights of the ceremony included farewell speeches by the outgoing senior prefects, a farewell song by the graduating students, cultural dance performances, and the presentation of prizes to deserving students.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by the Vice Principal (Administration), Mr. Akparanta Donny, who appreciated the Commissioner of Police, dignitaries, parents, and stakeholders for their support towards the continued growth of the school.
