Delta State Government Shutdown Bolero Hotel And Nightclub Uncovered To Be Centre For Underage Prostitution, Drug Abuse.
The Delta State Government has sealed the Bolero Hotel and Nightclub in Agbor over its alleged use as a centre for underage prostitution, consumption and distribution of illicit drugs.
The closure followed an order of the Delta State High Court sitting in the Agbor Judicial Division, Ika South local Government Area on February 10, 2026.
Court records show that one Orewa Ekene, trading under the name and style of Bolero Concepts, was arraigned before the High Court on a six-count charge bordering on trafficking in persons, contrary to Section 17(c) of the Delta State Human Trafficking (Prohibition) Law, 2024. With Charge No. AG/1C/2026: Delta State v. Orewa Ekene.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges and was remanded at the Agbor Custodial Centre. The court adjourned the matter to March 3, 2026, for hearing.
During the proceedings, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice applied for an order to freeze and seal the Bolero Hotel and Nightclub, citing its use for criminal activities involving minors and illicit drugs.
In a ruling delivered on February 11, 2026, the court granted the order pending the hearing of a motion on notice fixed for March 3, 2026.
Recall that in December 2025, the Delta State Government had also sealed the Happy Home Children Orphanage in Okwe over child trafficking-related offences committed under the guise of operating an orphanage Home.
The development marks a significant step in Delta State’s campaign against human trafficking, underage prostitution, and drug-related offences.
