DCP Olumuyiwa Not Involved In Re-Arrest Of Eboka, Any Other
— Nigerian Youths Challenge Sahara Reporters To Provide Evidence.
A group of Nigerian youths under the auspices of Integrity Youth Alliance has defended DCP Adejobi Against Sahara Reporters' 'Misleading' Claims. The group which came out in support of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Muyiwa Adejobi, has condemned a Sahara Reporters article as "misleading and malicious". According to group the report distorted facts, aiming to tarnish DCP Adejobi's image with false allegations of extortion and rearrest of suspects.
According to the Alliance, DCP Adejobi had handed over suspects to CSP Inusa Gwaza, ending his operational control and responsibility and further stressed that attempts to link subsequent actions to DCP Olumuyiwa is "mischievous and intellectually dishonest". Reacting to allegations that suspects were extorted for sums ranging from ₦150,000 to ₦200,000 before their release, the group challenges Sahara Reporters to provide evidence of alleged extortion, stating no proof links DCP Adejobi to the claims.
The Alliance accuses Sahara Reporters of misrepresenting events, saying individuals involved in the incident engaged in violent conduct. They clarify DCP Adejobi wasn't involved in the rearrest of a Delta State Fire Service staff member, urging Sahara Reporters to adhere to factual journalism principles.
