#10thSenate Former Governor Godswill Akpabio Polls Highest Votes, Emerges President Of 10th Senate.
Former Governor of Akwa Ibom State Godswill Akpabio, of All Progressives Congress has emerged Senate President.
Mr Akpabio, won the highest votes among senators to emerge Senate President at the inauguration of the 10th session of the National Assembly on Tuesday.
Under former President Muhammadu Buhari regime he served as minister for Niger Delta Affairs from 2019 to 2022.
A lawyer turned politician, Mr Akpabio was Akwa Ibom governor between 2007-2014. He won Senate seat in 2015, becoming minority leader but he resigned his position as minority leader to join the APC in 2018.
