Fuel Scarcity: DSS To Activate Operations, Raid NNPC Petrol Stations.

Department Of State Service (DSS) Issues 48hr Ultimatum To NNPC, Oil Marketers Across The Country To Make Petrol Available To Nigerians.

.... Vows To Activate It's Operation.

The Department of State Service (SSS) has said it would “activate its operations” across the country if the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited and oil marketers across the country do not make Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) otherwise known as petrol, available to the public within 48 hours.

The spokesperson of the agency, Peter Afunnaya, disclosed this while addressing journalists at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja after an indoor meeting with stakeholders.

Mr Afunnaya hinted that the fuel scarcity that has paralysed movement across the country and the Federal Capital Territory is artificially created by a deliberate decision of service stations to hoard fuel in fear of scarcity.

Mr Afunnaya further disclosed that the NNPC and other stakeholders agreed that there is enough product to serve the country’s demand during and after the festive season.

Many residents in the FCT have lived on black market as service stations have been rationing the sale of the product, forcing buyers to pay as high as N400 per litre.
