WIPF Kickstart Campaign School, Hold A 2-Day Training

 



Ghanaian Parliamentarian Opareh-Ansah, INEC, Others, Present As Women In Politics Forum (WIPF) Kickstart Campaign School For Female Candidates. 



Women in politics forum (WIPF) , on Monday, 22nd of August 2022, kickstarted her campaign school with a two day physical engagement with female candidates from various political parties across the country.


The training which was conveyed with the  support of the National Democratic Institute (NDI) had candidates engaged on proper conduct during campaigns aiding the candidates to operate within the provision of the law.


In a highly interactive and participatory session, the participants took turns to ask questions on issues pertaining to campaigns as the session, which was taken by the Director of the INEC department of Election and Party Monitoring, Alh. Aminu Idris. 



The Executive Director Women's Democracy Network-Uganda Ms. Perry Aritua also took the session on Conflict resolution' as it affects their campaigns owing to the fact that conflicts may arise in campaigns paying mind to how these conflicts are handled as it can make or mar a campaign.


The highlight of the engagement of the first day was the session on' Voter Contact' taken by Hon. Frederick Opare-Ansah, a Ghanian Parliamentarian who has a record of winning four elections. His session was a combination of Experience and Information sharing as the candidates gained insights on how to properly map their electorates for engagement.


At the end of the first day’s engagement, the candidates were better equipped for the elections. 

According to some of the participants, the tune of the manifesto had essentially changed in the course of the training, while others were of the opinion that lessons from the day’s engagement were eye openers. 

A participant recounting her past experience said she would not have been defeated at the polls when she contested if the strategies unveiled were known to her.


The engagement is set to continue on Tuesday, 23rd of August, 2022 and instruments are being put in place by Women in politics forum to continue the trainings virtually through the organization’s website, www.wipfng.com
