" Gender Inclusivity" : Nigerian Women Applaud Rivers PDP Over Nomination Of Yet Another Female, Dr. Ngozi Ordu As Deputy Governorship Candidate.
@OfficialPDPNig has nominated Dr. Mrs Ngozi Ordu, a Former Commissioner of Education in Rivers state as Deputy Governorship Candidate.
Nigerian Women have taken to the various social media platforms to salute the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State for showing yet again its commitment to Women Inclusion in Politics.
The PDP in Rivers State as part of its policy through the years has ensured that each Local Government Area produces at least female (5) female councilors.
MEDIAORCHID recalls that, in 2015, the PDP in Rivers State under the leadership of its current Governor Nyesom Wike, nominated a female Dr. Ipalibo Harry-Banigo as Deputy Governorship Candidate. Dr. Harry-Banigo eventually became the Deputy Governor following the emergence of H.E Chief Barr Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
Two women namely ; Hon. Justice Daisey Okocha, (rtd) and Hon. Justice Iyayi, Lamikara,(rtd) have served as Chief Judge of Rivers state.
Justice Iyayi Lamikara (rtd) who though is a non indigene was not denied the opportunity to serve Rivers state as chief Judge. Having risen to the highest rank, she was appointed by Governor Wike; an action that not only endeared him to women across Nigeria but also earned him commendation as a " true nationalist."
Dr. Ordu hails from Ogba/ Ndoni / Egbema LGA (ONELGA) of Rivers state.
