Youths, Berate Zamfara APC Over Attack On Saraki,
.... Challenges APC To Deliver On Promises, Solve Issues Facing Zamfara State.
The Zamfara State chapter of the Grow Nigeria Youth Movement, has lauded former President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, for his commitment to democracy in Nigeria.
At a press conference held in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, which was called by the Convener of the Group, Comrade Mustapha Bungudu, the movement described the recent comments of the Zamfara State All Progressives Congress (APC), Publicity Secretary, Mallam Yusuf Idris Gusau, against Saraki as a ‘comedic display of politically-motivated ignorance.’
The movement further emphasised that Dr. Saraki, an aspirant for the position of President under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), is the most qualified democrat and politician for the office of the presidency, while also lauding the former Kwara State Governor’s resolve to always speak truth to power.
“We have seen the comments made by the APC Spokesperson here in Zamfara State — and we were just laughing, because anybody who has studied Saraki’s history would know that those comments are clearly a comedic display of politically-motivated ignorance.
“How can anyone describe the best-performing Senate President in Nigeria’s history in such a manner? How can anyone even attempt to fault Dr. Saraki’s record of delivering real solutions to real issues, when the internet is there; the facts are there; and the results of all his work are there for all to see?
“We need to stop playing politics and address the issues at hand. Instead of the APC in Zamfara State to be attacking Saraki, they should focus on actually delivering the promises they made to uphold the Constitution — and not try to illegally impeach a Deputy Governor for not joining their party.
“At this time, we encourage the former Senate President to keep riding strong, and not to allow these detractors to continue their nonsense. We are ready, willing and able to take this movement all the way to the Presidential Villa, and it is not words from a useless press statement from anti-democratic elements that will stop us from Growing Nigeria with Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki,” Comrade Mustapha Bungudu said for the group.
