Ahead of the forthcoming general elections, a frontline aspirant of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) Oke Umurhohwo, has promised to sponsor bills that will touch lives positively, pointing out poverty alleviation and social integration as key areas of focus if he is elected to represent Ughelli North Constituency 2 at the Delta State House of Assembly come 2023.

Umurhohwo made the promise on Friday 10th December, 2021, while speaking to newsmen at the sidelines of the inauguration of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee in Abuja.

Describing the legislature as the heart of government, Umurhohwo said he's seeking a seat in the Delta State House of Assembly to halt the ugly experience of the past and bring about an experience that is not only rewarding to constituents but changes the face of the Constituency as a whole.

"Given my background and exposure, I'm well aware of the importance of a legislator, and this I can assure will be my guide, because my interest is to better the lives of my constituents," he noted.

"That is why I've given so much attention to listening to our people and knowing their needs in all of our consultations, which has provided me a greater understanding on how better to serve them if I'm given the chance to represent the Constituency in the 2023 poll."

Oke Umurhohwo who acknowledged peace and stability as an important factor for development and progress, noted that "as a legislator for Ughelli North Constituency 2, I will be working with relevant stakeholders, especially community leaders, local government managers and security agents, in promoting an atmosphere of cohesion and unity among constituents".

He added that the people of Ughelli North Constituency 2 will be in good hand if he is chosen to represent them at the Delta State House of Assembly, promising to always make himself available to listen to the people and work hard to ensure that their expectations are met.
