National Forum Of State Secretaries Of The PDP Issue Communique, State Position, Resolution On Party Crisis.
The National Forum Of State Secretaries Of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in a Communique issued on Monday August 30 2021 addressing Senator Jibrin Walid the Chairman BoT of the party and signed by Hon. Bako Angulu the interim chairman, FCT Secretary and Hon Nze Ray Emeana the interim secretary, state secretary Imo while copying Elder Yemi Akinwonmi the Acting National Chairman Peoples Democratic Party,
His Excellency Aminu Waziri Tambuwal the Chairman PDP Governors ' Forum,
Hon. Felix Hassan Hyet the Chairman of the state Chairmen Forum,
Sen. Eyinnaya Abaribe, the Minority Leader/ Chairman National Assembly Caucus,
Sen. Umar Ibrahim Tsauri the National Secretary, Peoples Democratic Party,
Sen. Dr Bukola Saraki the Chairman PDP National Reconciliation Committee, following a meeting held by the forum on August 27 2021 at the FCT party secretariat in Abuja stated that the forum notes challenges facing the party adding that the recent challenges could have been avoided.
READ COMMUNIQUE IN FULL :
- The Forum noted the current challenge facing the party as evident in the spate of litigation ;
- That those challenges are unfortunate, unnecessary and avoidable;
- That our party remains the only hope of Nigerians and there was need for the party to be united to save the country;
In stating its position and resolution, the forum said ;
" The Forum implores all parties to the dispute to Sheath their swords and revert tonthe conflict resolution mechanism ;
" The forum supports the internal dispute resolution mechanism available in the party to resolve all contending issues rather than litigation
" We support the ongoing dialogue by the stakeholders to bring to an end the lingering crisis bedeviling our party;
" The forum holds the principal actors in the current dispute in high esteem considering their contributions to the stability of the party in the past ;
The forum commends the Board of Trustees (BoT), PDP Governors Forum, PDP National Assembly Caucus, the Caucus of the party and the forum of party Chairmen foe their timely continuous intervention and urges them not to relent until peace returns to the party;
On the ongoing E-Registration exercise the forum further stated that,
" The forum finally calls on the PDP E-registration National Committee, state chapter of the party and all sundry not to lose focus but continue the E-registration to its logical conclusion.
