BREAKING: Female Kickboxing Head Coach Ogunsuyi Found Dead In Hotel Room

 



Ogun State Head Coach Of Kickboxing, Olufunke Ogunsuyi Dies In Hotel Room In Illorin. 


The head coach of kickboxing in Ogun state, Olufunke Ogunsuyi has been confirmed dead.


According to reports Olufunke died on Saturday in Illorin the Kwara state capital where she went to participate in the Kwara Zonal and invitational kickboxing championship. 


Late Ogunsuyi was an official in the competition and also fielded two athletes. 


Her lifeless body was discovered and her Corpse was picked up in her hotel room after the door to her hotel room was broken into.


The remains of Ogunsuyi was taken to the General Hospital in Illorin where she was confirmed dead at about 4pm. 


Sources reveal that search began after it was discovered that she was absent at the stadium at about noon when all officials were expected to gather for commencement of the final ceremony of the competition. Several calls were put across and they began to panic seeing there was no response from her via the phone neither was  her whereabouts known. 


Other officials and organizers of the event moved down to her hotel where it was discovered that she was in the room lifeless. 




The late head coach   who hailed from Ijebu-Ode in Ogun state, was also a former champion in the sport.


While her Corpse has been deposited at the Kwara General Hospital, Ilorin, mortuary, await transfer to Ogun state today Sunday, the Ogun State Sports Council, have reached out to her family and friends to inform them of the  unfortunate development.


The Director, Grassroots Sports Development at the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Alhaji Ali Durotoye, was among top administrators that went to the general hospital where she was confirmed dead.


As a sign of respect for Ogunsuyi, the competition which was supposed to come to a halt yesterday was postponed to today Sunday August 1 2021.
