Senator Samuel Anyanwu a good governance advocate and onetime Senate Committee Chairman on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, in a press release on Tuesday August 3 2021 listed seven strong reasons why Imo people and Nigerians at large should reject the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) now and in the future.
According to him, since APC took over power in 2015, the South East geopolitical zone has not benefited anything tangible to warrant them to support the party, revealing that APC only succeeded increasing unemployment rate from 18% to 43% percent.
Anyanwu, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo state noted that hunger and starvation occasioned by insecurity were deliberately launched on Nigerians as against democracy dividends by the APC led administration.
He maintained that due to harsh administrative policies of the ruling APC, Igbo business men had suffered huge economic loss, regretting that the party not minding the condition of Nigerians after the effects of Covid-19 pandemic, Endsars protest and insecurity still went further to increase taxes and fuel pump price.
The visibly angry Lawmaker therefore slammed the APC government for doing nothing to rescue individuals being held hostage by kidnappers, adding that the party has shown Nigerians that it is not prepared for governance.
Senator Anyanwu expressed regret that lack of administrative knack coupled with poor security arrangement, Nigeria has lost her youths and future leaders through extrajudicial killings in Imo state and South East, wondering how APC can do better, when lives and properties of the people are not guaranteed.
Expressing further, Anyanwu noted that PDP controlled states are doing well in job creation, quality road construction, poverty alleviation and conducive economic environment, adding that Nigerian current foreign exchange under APC is not only in shambles but highly embarrassing.
He added that the low turn-out of APC congress was evidence of its rejection by Imo people and Nigerians, describing the party as worse than cancer and has no meaningful impact on the masses.
