41-Yr-Old Usman Hammawa Beats 36-Yr-Old Wife To Death For Demanding N1,000 Earlier Borrowed By Him.
Police in Adamawa state has arrested 41-Yr-Old Usman Hammawa for beating his wife Rabiyat Usman to death on thursday, July 22, 2021.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Suleiman Nguroje, in a statement on Friday morning, said,
“The suspect, Usman Hammawa, resident of Jada Ward in Ganye Local Government Area engaged his late wife in a fight following a little argument.”
According to Ngoruje, Usman pounced on Rabiyat and slamming her head on the wall after she asked him for N1,000 that he had earlier borrowed from her.
“Angered by her request, the suspect forcefully began hitting the head of his late wife on the wall, as a result of which she fell down unconscious and was rushed to the hospital where she was confirmed dead,” the PPRO further explained.
He said the suspect was apprehended by the Police in Ganye Local Government Area following report received from a relative of the deceased and a good Samaritan.
Nguroje also added that the suspect, who is a Civil Servant with Ganye Local Government Council, has five children with the deceased after 16 years of marriage.
He said the state Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Adamu, had deployed officers of Anti- Homicide Unit of the Police Command to take over investigation and ensure that the law took its due course.
