PDP Women Delgates Give Their Blessing To Valentine Ozigbo

Valentine Ozigbo Pledges More Political Inclusion For Anambra Women In Government.

Valentine Ozigbo has reiterated his commitment to ensuring more women participation in governance.

Mr Ozigbo gave the assurance on Thursday, June 3, 2021, when he hosted a town hall meeting with all the PDP women leaders from the 326 wards of the state at Emmaus House, Awka.

The packed event was unique as Mr Ozigbo seized the opportunity to interact directly with the women from around the state, answering their questions concerning his gubernatorial ambition and his candidacy.

In his address, Ozigbo stressed the importance of women involved in the governing process, as they possess the innate ability to change the fortunes of any society if given their rightful place.

Ozigbo, the immediate past President and Group CEO of Transcorp Plc, further said he is privileged to have lived his life around virtuous women who embody and manifest unconditional love and compassionate living.

"Everything I am today is a result of the love and support I have received from my precious mother, Christiana Ozigbo, my lovely wife, Ojiugo, my darling daughter, Chioma, and all the amazing women that have contributed to whatever success I have enjoyed in my corporate life," Ozigbo said.

"I am fully aware of the indispensable role women play in our homes, schools, religious establishments and society at large. It is time for us to change our narrative as a people, and our women must be active partners in that process.

"I am a firm believer in the innate power of women. When women support a project, you are confident of sweeping success. Women don't waver, and when they move, they pull along their husband and children.

"Women are the most reliable people to go on a mission with, like the one I am undertaking now. That's the reason I anchored this project on you and your children, the youths," the philanthropist and founder of the VCO Foundation continued.

Ozigbo further pleaded with the women to take advantage of the forthcoming PDP primaries and the polls to spark a change that will positively impact the lives of their children and the coming generations.

"June 26 and November 6 are our dates with destiny. This is a unique opportunity to rewrite the wrongs that bad leadership has brought upon us. I am counting on you because I believe that together we will create a brighter and better Anambra," Ozigbo added.

The event's high point was a spontaneous prayer session during which all the women leaders present gathered around Mr Valentine Ozigbo, raising their hands over him as he knelt; they prayed over him, blessing him and affirming his success at the polls.

The leadership of the PDP women attended the town hall event at the state, local government and ward levels, led by Mrs Justina Nwafor, the Anambra State PDP Woman Leader.

Members of the VCO Campaign Organisation were also present to add colour to the event, including Honourable Eucharia Azodo, a former Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly and a two-time member of the Federal House of Representatives; Chief Ejike Oguebego, a former State Chairman of the party; Hon Tim Egboka, a former member of the Anambra State House of Assembly; Hon Barr Val Ayika, a former member of the Federal House of Representatives and Anambra State House of Assembly; Chief Tony Offiah and a former member of the state party executive; Dame Love Ebeh, the immediate past woman leader of the PDP in Anambra State; and Lady Juliet Anaeme.
