Nigerians Join Abaribe, PDP NWC In A Protest Against Appointment Of Buhari's Aide Lauretta Onochie As INEC Commissioner.



The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday Stormed the streets of the FCT Abuja to protest against the appointment of Lauretta Onochie an aide of President Muhammadu Buhari renowned for series of controversial comments n social media platforms.



MediaOrchid recalls that on October 13 2020, President Buhari In a letter addressed to the senate and Read out on the floor by the senate president Ahmad Lawan, asked that Professor Mohamed Sani (Katsina), Professor Kunle Ajayi (Ekiti), Seidu Ahmed (Jigawa) along side his aide Lauretta Onochie screened for appointments. 


On October 14 2020, The Senate Minority Leader Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe in a statement described President Buhari as "willfully going against the constitution, " demanding that President Buhari withdraws Onochie's nomination. 



The Senate president received yet another letter proposal from Buhari through Yahaya Abdullahi the leader of the senate for Onochie to be screened alongside 5 others. 



On the 9th of June 2021 , Ahmed Lawan negated the provision of the  constitution and Insisted on carrying on with the  screening of Buhari's aide Lauretta Onochie, to be an appointee of INEC against the many complains from Nigerians.
