Senator Anyanwu Charges Imo Political Leaders To Foster Peace, Unity, Good Of The State.
.....Warns Mischief Makers To Desist From Politicizing Calls For Peace Of Imo State.
As human and vehicular movements resume in the state after the sit-at-home exercise, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu has called on political leaders in the state to come together and think for the good of the state, saying that the primary interest of any individual should center on the state’s way-forward.
In a statement signed by Ikenna Onuoha the media aide to Senator Samuel Anyanwu,on Tuesday June 1 2021, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftain said that his call for the unity of the political leaders irrespective of party affiliations was borne out of his sincere love for Imo state and her citizens, urging anyone still holding grudges against one-another to forgive and embrace peace for the good of the state.
According to him, “if the desire of any Imolite or the political class is to develop the state, there is need for all hands to be on deck to redeem the bartered image of the state occasioned by insecurity”

“It’s regrettable that people are seeing us today as being violent , this is because we have allowed our personal and selfish interests to becloud our sense of judgement and reasoning. This is not only despicable, and dangerous for our democracy, but a sign that we are not ready to leave any good legacy behind for the younger generation.”
“There is need for everyone to come together irrespective of party affiliations to make peace and forge ahead. This insecurity has crumbled everything in our state, and the masses made up of our mothers, sisters, brothers and children are finding it difficult to eat one square meal in a day. It is too bad and we must lead by example. We are one just as Imo is our original aboard”
Anyanwu regretted how insecurity has grounded the economy of the state, and suggested the need for a collective efforts geared towards reducing tension to enable citizens move freely without fear of molestation.
He therefore warned mischief makers not to politicize his call for unity to suit their inordinate ambitions, pointing out that as a major stakeholder in the Imo project, it will be wrong to sit at the fence and watch things go bad.
Senator Anyanwu however enjoined Governor Hope Uzodinma to activate every channel of reconciliation with a view to bringing back lasting peace in the state.
