2 Killed As Unknown Gunmen Attack Akwa Ibom Police Station, Burn Vehicles, Buildings.
Reports reaching the news desk of MediaOrchid reveals that gunmen attacked the police station at Ibiaku Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom state.
The Chairman of the LGA, Hon. Nyakno Okoibu was alerted at about 3am on Saturday morning attack of Police the Station at Ibiaku Ntok Ọkpọ by a yet to be identified group.
A source revealed that in an attempt to counter the gunmen, two police officers were killed, 5 vehicles were burnt and a female police officer who had who resumed night duty was badly injured.
Hon. Nyakno Okoibu upon receiving the information made his way to the scene and confirmed the reports earlier received and tried to assure the people of his commitment towards ensuring that calm is restored and future reoccurrence of such incidents is hindered.
He further urged the people of the community to go about their normal activities while staying vigilant and await communication on the next line of action after a meeting with the Governor Emmanuel Udom.
