FG Announces Phase IV Of #Covid_19 Lockdown.
....Imposes Curfew, Places Ban On Non essential Public Places, Clubs, Events Centres.
The Federal Government has announced Phase IV of the Coronavirus lockdown which is to be observed in all 36 states including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The Presidential Steering Committee (PSC) on COVID-19 during a press briefing on Monday, May 10 2021, made known the directive and further stated that it takes effect from midnight of Tuesday.
The committee also re-enforced nationwide curfew to help control the spread of COVID-19 as fear of a comeback of the pandemic resurfaces.
“ The nationwide curfew will be imposed tonight at midnight and it will run through till 4:00 a.m. There are no formal restrictions on movement within the country even as citizens are encouraged to refrain from non-essential movements and comply with all non-pharmaceutical interventions and guidelines.
It also added that religious, social or any mass gatherings are hereby restricted to 50 persons. Persons without facemasks will also no longer be allowed into government institutions.
The committee further stated that only essential international travels will be allowed henceforth with strict adherence to all Protocols for prevention and spread of #Covid_19.
According to Mukhtar Mohammed, the committee’s national incident manager, all event centres and non-essential public places such as night clubs will remain closed till further notice.
All official engagements, conferences and meetings are to henceforth be held virtually.
