One of the aspirants in the forthcoming Governorship election in Anambra State Valentine Ozigbo has expressed displeasure over invasion of a town hall meeting and attack on former CBN governor, professor Charles Soludo.
MediaOrchid recalls that it was reported that Prof Charles Soludo was attacked during a town hall meeting with youths in Isuofia community in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra.
A press statement signed by Hon Valentine Ayika Esq. the Director, Strategy and Media for the Valentine Ozigbo Campaign Organization read;
" The news of the deadly attack on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at an event where Professor Soludo was having a town hall meeting at his hometown, Isuofia, Anambra State came to us as a shock.
" According to press reports, the town hall meeting was invaded by gunmen and in the mayhem three policemen attached to Prof Soludo were killed.
" We condemn this act of violence, pray for the repose of the souls of the slain policemen, and extend our get well wishes to those that may have sustained injuries during the mayhem.
" We also appeal for immediate and unconditional release of the Commissioner for Utility in the State, Engr Emeka Ezenwanne.
" The Campaign Organisation admonishes all concerned to always tow the part of peace and opt for amicable or legal settlement of disputes.
" Let us remember that human life is and should remain inviolable at all times and for whatever reasons. "
