"BURNT ALIVE": Family Of Salome Abuh Calls For Adequate Compensation

 



Family Of PDP Woman Leader Salome Acheju Abuh Burnt Alive Holds 2nd Press Conference, Regrets Silence From Party, Women Organizations, Others. 

..... Calls For Adequate Compensation Following Pronouncement Of Judgement.



The family of Hon Salome Acheju Abuh the Erstwhile Peoples Democratic Party Woman Leader who was brunt alive on November 18 during the 2019 governorship election in Kogi state today Friday April 23 2021 held 2nd press conference at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.



MediaOrchid recalls that on March 23 2021, a high Court sitting in Idah Kogi state presided by Justice Ajayi pronounced Judgement sentencing one Ocholi Edicha To 12 Years Imprisonment burning Mrs Salome Abuh Alive. The Judgement generated angry reactions from Nigerians as many believed one person cannot be said to be the only perpetrator of such heinous act.

MediaOrchid present at the press conference today reports that Elder Simeon Babani seidu Abuh while speaking said, 


" On the March 27 2020, I addressed a press conference after the three months initial mourning period of my late wife, Hon. Salome Acheju Abuh, the erstwhile Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) woman Leader who was "burnt alive" in our matrimonial home, Ochadamu, Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State during the Governorship election which took place in November 2019."

" I wrote Petition to His Excellency president Muhammadu Buhari GCFR , copied her Excellency the wife of the president Dr. Aisha Buhari, (a woman) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Speaker of the House of Representatives, Inspector General Of Police, Hon. Minister of Women Affairs (a woman) Hon. Minister of Humanitarian & Disaster Management Affairs (a woman) among others, appealing for immediate re- habilitation and justice to prevail over gruesome murder of my wife, including loss of properties with an invitation to note that; 


- this attack on my wife and destruction of our properties were premeditated on Saturday 16th November, and carried out on Monday 18th, November 2019 by these known thugs. 

- that thugs, chanting GYB 4+4 burnt my wife alive, including 4 fully furnished houses with the 5th one in our compound made inhabitable with some other PDP stakeholders in Ochadamu, have their houses looted / burnt down and I made the following simple prayers that H.E Mr. President Should : 


i. graciously direct sincere and comprehensive investigation with view to ensuring that justice prevails, no matter wuo may be involved, including the sponsors of this dastardly act; 

ii. direct for Adequate security support / sponsor a befitting burial of my wife, fixed for 6th and 7th December 2019 with an attached schedule ; 

iii. treat our homelessness as an emergency; by resettling and reconstruction of our burnt down houses; and 

iv. adequately compensate us for the life lost, even though life is irreplaceable. "


Elder Simeon also stressed that he made passionate appeals to the UN, EU delegations to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Human Rights Organizations, PDP Governors and PDP as a party, (for whose cause she paid the Supreme prize), Corporate  / Humanitarian organizations and Spirited individuals to come to the aid of the family to enable them have a dream home again and to kindly impress on President Buhari GCFR, the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello and the APC as a party whose thugs did this to us to; 










Elder Simeon lamented that till now, nothing has been heard from anywhere. Speaking further he revealed that the shock of late Hon Salome's death led to the death of the deceased's sister in law and also her aged mother who couldn't bear the pain of losing a daughter in such a manner. Weeping at the chain effects he said " there is God." 


He rounded up by thanking all who have stood by them.


" In conclusion,we wish to thank all those who see acts against us as unjust, and passionately appeal to all spirited bodies / individuals to help address our homelessness as emergency, support our demand for adequate compensation to justify the right to" life and association. Thank you all, as you continue to stand by us in the struggle for justice, in this regard."
