BREAKING : Usman Baba Alkali Appointed New IG Of Police

 




Buhari Appoints Usman Baba Alkali As New Inspector General Of Police. 



Baba Alkali, Deputy Inspector-general was appointed on Tuesday April 06 2021 as the new Inspector-general


He automatically replaces Mohammed Adamu whose tenure had come to an end but was asked by president Mohammed Buhari to continue for a period of 3 months. 


Biography :


Alkali Baba Usman was born sometime in 1963. He is an alumnus of Bayero University, Kano, and the University of Maiduguri, UNIMAID.


Baba Usman is married with children.  He  joined the Nigerian Police Force sometime in March 1988 and rose from the rank of ASP, and thence to the rank of Commissioner of Police, last January 27th.



He went through many courses that are mandatory to be attended at various ranks and also attended extra courses like  investigation, insurgency and counter- terrorism, including traffic management.


Usman Baba is a member of the International Association of Police and a fellow of the International War College.



He also served in various commands. In Kaduna he was the Deputy Commissioner, Administration, and was in FCT as the Deputy Commissioner, Investigation, and  also in the staff college as a directing staff.


He was also in Ilorin as an Area Commander, and was the second-in-command in Ebonyi,

He served as Assistant Commissioner, CID in Kaduna, and before then was DPO (Divisional Police Officer) in various places like Yola, Gombe, Kaduna, and Jos.


Baba Alkali has also attended peace keeping operations outside the country as well.
