Imo State Government Denies News On Empowering Youths With N50,000.
......Reveals Number Of Scammer, Issues Warning.
Imo state government has issued a disclaimer on the news making rounds about N50,000 been paid into the accounts of young Imolites as Empowerment.
A source speaking to MediaOrchid on Monday night revealed that a number of Imolites raised concerns over messages which they received asking for bank account details with claim of crediting accounts as part of an empowerment program from Imo state government.
A statement released by the Media Centre of the Governor On Tuesday further confirmed the information which had earlier reached the news desk of MediaOrchid.

" Our attention has been drawn to a news making the rounds that the state government has started crediting the sum of N50,000 to the accounts of all Imo youths as an empowerment program.
" The unfortunate scammer went on to drop a number to call for all those that are yet to receive their own imaginary alert from the state government.
" We therefore want to state categorically that the information is fake and should be disregarded. We therefore want to state that there has been no time the state government under Gov. Hope Uzodimma embarked upon sharing of money through any means as an empowerment program. The state government loans and grants are not given through this means but through an administrative channel and currently none is going on.
" It is imperative that we stress further that the state government will never ask for your account number for any payment purposes or do that by proxy or through any unauthorized person or group of persons.
" The government of Sen. Hope Uzodimma has been empowering imo youths and will continue to do so and be rest assured that this government believes in tangible empowerment through skills acquisition and training that will make imo youths financial independent rather than depend on government for cash.
" The message going round is this
" 50,000 has been credited to all the youth by government empower,Call this number if you Didn't receive the alert, 07046413249".
