Former National Security Adviser (NSA), IGP Gambo Jimeta Has Passed On At The Age Of 83.
The paste IGP was born April 15 1937 in Jimeta and attended Jimeta Elementary School, 1947-49 and then proceeded to Yola Middle School, 1950-55 for his early education.
Jimeta joined the Nigeria Police Force and as years went by he served as Inspector General of Police 1986-1990 and also served as the National Security Adviser to former head of state Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB).
In 2014, Jimeta represented Adamawa state at the National Conference.
President Muhammadu Buhari in a condolence message to the family of the deceased on Thursday said,
" A man of Courage, Intellect and A trye Nigerian Statesman.
" Today Nigeria lost as great son.
He lived for the nation and served with all his strength.
" May Allah Bless his soul and give fortitude to the bereaved family, the government and people of Adamawa state to bear the irreparable loss."
