Buhari Appoints Dr. Uzoma Emenike As Ambassador Designate Of Nigeria To The US

 



President Buhari Reappoints 11 Ambassadors, Retains 8 in Countries Of Posting.



Dr. Mrs. Uzoma Emenike the Abia state born diplomat with diplomatic experience of almost 30 years was an Ambassador of Nigeria to Ireland and has recently been posted as a non-Career diplomat to the United States.


Uzoma is a PhD holder in International Relations, from University of Reading (UK) with two Bachelor’s degrees, two Master’s degrees, (a B.Sc Sociology and Anthropology from the University Of Maiduguri and an LL.B from the University of Reading in the U.K.

She earned a Master’s degree in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos and another Master’s in International Management from University of Reading in the U.K.).


Dr. Emenike kick started her career in the Nigerian diplomatic mission at the Protocol Department and Africa Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.


Proceeding to the Nigerian Embassy in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire in 1992, where she served for six years and upon returning to the headquarters in Nigeria, she was variously deployed to other departments of the Ministry, during which she represented Nigeria in numerous bilateral and multilateral missions.


MediaOrchid recalls the Nigerian Senate had confirmed a list of 52 non-career diplomats  and 43 career ambassadors.

Newly deployed are; 

The Former minister of Mines and Steel, Sarafat Ishola to serve  as High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, 

Demola Seriki a former Defence Minister has been deployed as Nigerian Ambassador to Spain and also, to serve as Nigerian Ambassador to Togo is Debo Adesina the Editor-in-chief of TheGuardian Newspapers.
