BREAKING : George Obiozor Elected President Of Ohaneze Ndigbo

 



Professor George Obiozor, Ex-Ambassador Of Nigeria To The US Has  Emerged President General Of Ohaneze Ndigbo.



The Igbo Socio-Cultural group held an election on Sunday January 10 2020 at Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri the Imo state Capital.

Obiozor pulling a total of 304 votes emerged winner.


The 78-year old professor was former Director-General (DG) of Nigeria Institute of International Affairs, and also one time Commissioner to Cyprus, and also served as An Ambassador of Nigeria to Israel. (1999-2003)



Professor Obiozor had earlier been announced the consensus candidate at Imeobi meeting which was convened by executives from Nwodo in Ohaneze Ndigbo though vehemently kicked against. 




Some dignitaries Present at Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri for the election are; 


- Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state. 


- Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state. 


- Senator Andy Uba


- Gary Igariwe, former President General Ohaneze Ndigbo. 


- Most Rev. Emmanuel Chukwuma Archbishop, Anglican Communion Enugu Province. 

 

- Hon. Minister of Labour Chris  Ngige. 


- Ogbonnaya Ọnụ, Hon. Minister of Science and Technology. 


A host of lawmakers from the South-East were also present.
