Speaker Hon. Bawa, Clerk Kagara Of Niger State House of Assembly Contract Coronavirus.
MediaOrchid recalls that the governor of Niger State Abubakar Bello had earlier in November announced that he contracted the virus. Also, about 2 weeks ago a member representing Gurara local government and the chairperson Committee On Gender Affairs in Niger state House of Assembly Hon. Binta Mamman tested positive for coronavirus.
The state Commissioner for Information Hon. Muhammed Idris said the results of the tests conducted on the Speaker and Clerk were released on Sunday and came out positive.
" The Speaker and Clerk have both gone into self Isolation," he added.
According to Idris, all members of Niger state House of Assembly have been mandated to undergo the #Covid_19 test stressing that some members have availed themselves for the tests and are currently awaiting results.
He said,
" We are yet to receive other results but for now, many of us are in self Isolation.
" The Government has asked all civil servants to stay at home from December 21. However, exceptions have been made for essential service providers."
